So I am watching opening day baseball, Pittsburgh Pirates vs Cincinnati Reds and there is a rain
delay. My Kindle is nearby so I begin to
go through my e-mail. I clicked on a
link about craft projects and saw where someone made a travel kit out of a
washcloth. I thought I could crochet
that. The rest rain delay and game went by quickly. So I present ….
The Crochet Travel Kit
1 skein worsted
weight cotton yarn (I used some old Peaches n Cream that was in my stash. I used the entire skein)
A small amount of contrasting
yarn. I used some worsted weight white cotton yarn.
Size H 5.0 mm
crochet hook.
Yarn needle
Ch 31
Row 1: turn sc in 2nd ch on hook. Dc in next stitch. * sc in next st dc in next
st* repeat from** to end of row. Ch 1
turn.
Row 2-30: sc in
first dc, dc in first sc, *sc in dc, dc in sc* repeat from ** to end of row . fo after row 30.
With contrasting
yarn ch 100. Sl in each ch. FO.
When you are
finished with the crochet washcloth, you are going to make it into a travel
kit. Mark 6 rows from the top of the
washcloth. Fold the bottom of the
washcloth up to the row that you marked.
Sew or crochet the sides closed.
I wanted 4
pockets. You can make as many or as few
pockets as you want. I just measured where
I wanted the pockets and sewed the two sides of the dishcloth together. I used up what little yarn I had left from the washcloth. This formed the pockets. Fill the travel kit with your items. Roll it up and secure with the tie you made
with the contrasting yarn.
And there you have it. Enjoy! If you find any errors please let me know as I am not a professional crochet designer.
